EP of the Week: Casey Lowry - Nervous

With sold out shows across Europe and over four million combined streams,

CASEY LOWRY’s second EP ‘Nervous’ bookmarks his exponential rise to

prominence.

‘Nervous’ contains four phenomenal, brand-new tracks, following the

momentum achieved with 2019’s well-received standalone singles

‘Boyfriend’, ‘Roam’ & ‘You Told Me You Loved Me’. The EP, produced by the

legendary Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Bombay Bicycle

Club, The Kooks) continues building Casey’s brand of addictive guitar riffs

and sing-a-long hooks delivered with his distinctive Northern twang.

The upcoming indie-pop king kicks off his second EP with the title track

‘Nervous’, which utilises a dynamic beat, an earworm hook and

unforgettable melodies for a quintessentially Casey Lowry sound. It’s the type of sound which helped the Chesterfield-born artist climb both the UK and

Ireland Viral Top 50, land 12 New Music Friday playlists and Best of the Week,

plus additions on leading indie pop playlists such as Indie List, Pop List, All New

All Now, New Alternative, Chilled Pop Hits, Indie Arrivals and Indie Roadtrip.

Second track ‘Feeling No Feeling’ is an animated, danceable number,

characterising the uninhibited excitement Casey has displayed in all of his

two-hundred live shows to date, even selling out shows in Paris, Amsterdam

and Nottingham. ‘Monster’ – about escaping from the clutches of

metaphorical monsters holding us back – is another stellar example of the

authentic and raw lyrics Casey is known for. Finally, the playful and personal

EP closer ‘Ferrari’ is signature, on-brand Casey: a real-life story told through a

blend of humorous, witty lyrics and dreamy trop-pop sensations.

Cultivating a quickly-rising fanbase thanks to his natural ability to captivate

with his stories and unique sound, Casey consistently creates infectious

melodies that culminate to a crescendo chorus. The multi-instrumentalist

possesses an artistic maturity that is far beyond his years, making him a

refreshing and exciting artist to watch.

Music has always been in Casey’s DNA but it wasn’t until he reached the age

of 14 that he wrote his first song, Trampoline. He tells you this almost casually -

about a song that, on its release in 2017, was playlisted at Radio 1, reached

No 2 on Spotify’s UK Viral 50 chart and has racked up more than 500,000

streams. His debut EP, which included ‘Me & You’ and ‘Blank Face’ garnered

attention from the likes of Wonderland, Dork and Clash, adding to his

growing accolade of praise and resulted in a colossal 4,000,000 total streams

to date. Fast-forward to October 2019 and Casey Lowry is a priority

developing artist for independent label Access Records, part of First Access

Entertainment, who house global talent such as Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha,

Madison Beer and rising star Kara Marni; Casey is clearly surrounded by great

company, and ‘Nervous’ is proof of his own imminent explosion.

Casey maintains all the key qualities of a star in the making: unprecedented,

with a dynamic presence that commands immediate attention. With each

release revealing another layer, he chooses to take the long way around,

crafting new music entirely on his own terms. Still in the beginnings of his

career, there is still so much that is yet to come from this truly exciting artist.
