HOW DID YOUR NAME ORIGINATE?
The band formed originally for a one off show at Vieilles Charrues Festival and the idea behind it was to have a collective of musicians showcasing Celtic traditional instruments rather like Buena Vista Social Club so naturally the name became Celtic Social Club.

WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE?
Well as said before the first gig was at the Vieilles Charrues Festival which is a huge French music festival. There would have been 200,000 people there. Not your every day run of the mill first gig.
-
WHEN WAS YOUR LAST DAY OFF AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?
The state of the modern music industry is that you never have a day off, ever. When you aren't gigging you are travelling, writing, recording, doing interviews sending out Cds and a myriad of other things that modern music industry professionals do ALL THE TIME. Now we have smart phones the office is in your pocket at all times.
-
WHAT IS SOMETHING APART FROM YOUR WALLET OR PHONE THAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR VICINITY AT ALL TIMES?
If its before midday a strong cup of coffee and I always have some plectrums in my back pocket should the urge take me to play some guitar.
-
WHICH SONG BY ANOTHER ARTIST DO YOU WISH YOU HAD WRITTEN?
I personally wish I'd written The Wichita Lineman by Jimmy Webb as it's such a wistful story with some great chords involved.
-
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST SURREAL FAN MOMENT?
I think all fan moments are surreal!! I'm massively blown away when people appreciate what we do for a living. They are our employers really and I'm grateful to all of them for buying records and concert tickets and merch.
